Hi,
NOTE TO READER: I am available for a variety of jobs, but if you want someone to lead Ballpark Road Trips to stadiums across the country, or you need someone to lead a Broadway Themed New York City Tour, or you want someone to take a group to S. Korea, then STOP READING AND JUST MESSAGE ME ALREADY….
I’m Jacob. I am 4th generation Californian, but I’ve lived all over. I was born in my living room in San Francisco to a couple of hippies who didn’t want to go to a hospital. I had an oldies band in 7th grade called “Indigo Hairspray” and in High School, I had my own cable access TV show called “Spunk and Funk”.
I attended college at UC Irvine where I lived on the beach and graduated with a degree in Drama. I moved to New York City for a couple years and worked for a Broadway Producer learning all about what goes into putting on a Broadway show.
After attending Illinois State University for my MFA in theater directing, I moved to South Korea where I worked at an ESL Theme Park writing and performing original musicals and game shows. I spent 3 years in Korea where I taught English to the military, musical theater to children and hosted a game show on the Korean version of PBS.
Since returning to the states, I have split my time between Theater Education and Tourism. I direct musicals, perform with comedy groups and teach improv to employees at Google. I ran a community theater for a few years and even played piano in the subway until Covid put a wrench in that.
At the same time, I’ve been building my credentials in the travel industry. I’ve been a San Francisco tour guide since 2011, working for Big Bus, leading shore excursions for Onward and running food tours of Chinatown and North Beach.
I just completed my 4th season on the road taking travelers through the American West, to Canada and Alaska and up and down the West Coast. My immediate goals for the future include leading specialized theme tours around the country in the areas of Baseball, Theater and Music. I also would love to take groups to South Korea. Also…maybe spend a little less time with senior citizens.
