I developed a love of travel from an early age. Month long road trips all over the US in the family station wagon with my parents, four siblings and a dog was quite the adventure. The opportunity to learn about our beautiful country by seeing it up close was an awesome experience. A mission trip to Honduras as a teenager created a desire to learn about other cultures and help those less fortunate than myself.
A first career as a science teacher in Florida allowed me to share with the students my first hand experiences from places like the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest and Painted Dessert. I took the students on field trips as often as possible so they could explore the wildlife and geology up close as I did as a child.
The transition into my second career of tour guiding and directing has been exciting. I am grateful to be meshing the love of history and travel with the knowledge of science and nature. After seven years as a Tour Director and Guide, I am just as happy to be in the “Big City” or “in the middle of nowhere”.
I hope that wherever I go and whatever I do, I will help others experience the awe of nature, the fascination of history, an appreciation of cultures and the fun and fellowship of travel.
