My name is Michael Soncina, and I am the owner and president of Soncina Travel and Events. If you are on our homepage, you have already taken the first steps toward your Winnipeg adventure.

Funny enough, I never thought I would end up living in Winnipeg. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, with stints studying and living in megacities like Tokyo, Singapore and San Fransisco, I always thought I would settle in one of these cities.

Seven years ago, I would have the opportunity to visit Winnipeg to blog about the city, sponsored by Tourism Winnipeg. As I travelled around, seeing the sights and meeting the people, I slowly fell in love with this prairie gem.

On my second visit and seeing how the city had changed, I decided it was time to move here, and finally, in November of 2020, I did.

I am an expert in the field with over a decade working in the tourism industry as a certified local guide and tour director, leading groups of international clientele both domestically and globally around Canada, Europe and Asia.
