He worked so hard, rising very early to be ready every day with loads of stories about the history and cultures of Newfoundland, all very well presented - never overwhelming, never monotonous, always incredibly interesting and spun as fascinating storytelling. Micky has a very strong work ethic combined with a real love for not only the job but also the folks he is guiding through their journey to learn about the land and its peoples. His unquenchable humor and wit made this trip the most fun I have ever had. He worked hard to create a fantastic experience for all of us, and everything went perfectly. "I did not notice a specific area for comments re tour guide and bus driver. I wanted to specifically mention that Micky Kandola and driver Betty were superb guides and leaders for this group of 42. It was obvious Micky was well prepared to lead the group and his goal was to make sure everyone felt included, busy (if they chose), entertained, and learned ALOT through the four Canadian cities visited. He encouraged seat rotation on the bus which resulted in everyone getting familiar with each other which might not have happened otherwise. His and Betty's generosities were much appreciated in offering samples of Canadian goods, so that it got us out into the Canadian stores looking for more of the same! He totally made himself available to us for any reason and any time of day or night which was very much appreciated. This was our second Gate 1 trip and look forward to future ones. Thank you." "WONDERFUL! It was our first time with Gate 1 and I truly had reservations, but this was wonderful! Canadian Rockies is beautiful, spectacular, amazingly breathtaking even without Jasper . It was made more wonderful by our tour director Micky and driver Clint. We have travelled extensively in Europe and Asia and have never met a director who was as informative, entertaining and detailed as Micky. He made sure he answered all our questions, very clear and specific on directions and instructions and kept us entertained with games, stories, videos relevant with the tour. Wished he could be with us in our next tours. Clint was also very friendly and endured our luggages stayed with us. He made sure we had water available while in the bus. "We just returned from our eastern Canada Gate 1 adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed it! This was our first Gate 1 trip and our first bus trip ever and we had no idea what to expect. We were so fortunate to have Mickey Kandola as our guide. He was personable and knowledgeable and focused on giving each of us a wonderful experience. He had entertaining and educational videos and handouts and fun games to enhance our understanding of the places we were going to see. He gave us wonderful free time and restaurant suggestions. His daily written handouts kept us organized, on time and always informed. He created a warm atmosphere that encouraged us to get to know each other and form friendships.
