I am a “Southern Peach” located in middle Georgia.
My favorite childhood past time was playing “school” and teaching my make-believe students. I feel that is what led me to pursue a career in education. Whoever thinks middle school students are a nightmare, must not have spent much time with adolescents. Each day was a new day and no two days were ever the same. Always a ray of sunshine on a stormy day! Throughout my teaching career, I always thrived on finding places I could take students to explore. My favorite destination to take students was our Nation’s Capital. This passion and my keen sense to details, opened up many doors for myself. After retirement from teaching, I began to think “what can I do now.”
I continued planning trips for various school groups, family members and friends. It was through these planning events that I decided I wanted to venture out and attend professional education/training for this passion. In the Fall of 2019, I graduated from ITMI. While participating in this Tour Director Certification Course, I was introduced to “TripSchool.” Since completing my certification with ITMI, I have participated in several trainings with TripSchool and look forward to many more. I even survived the East Coast Megatraining with Mitch and Alan! Not once, but twice!!
Student travel had always captured my attention due to my educational background. However, my natural instinct to accommodate as many people as possible, has led to my desire to enter into the adult travel world. Traveling with fellow tour guide friends and listening to their experiences has increased my desire to work with adult tours too. Most recently, I have enjoyed working with a performance group tour operator.
Always eager to learn and am looking forward to many more adventures! When not on the road for a tour, or on the road visiting our kids/grandkids, you will find me looking for the next organizing challenge. I love to organize!
My happy place is being with others and finding things that bring people joy. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new friends on the road!
