About

I learned through years of advocacy as an attorney, and then as a business owner, that my greatest satisfaction comes from helping others achieve or experience what they could not on their own. As a trial attorney, I developed the ability to craft persuasive, fact-based narratives that juries could understand and embrace — a skill that now enhances my ability to engage and inspire travelers. As the founder of a kayak tour company recognized with Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award (top 10% of attractions worldwide), I helped guests of all skill levels experience the beauty of the area safely and confidently by providing brief training, local insight, and engaging storytelling that turned simple outings into meaningful adventures. Each five-star review represented a guest who left with a smile and a story to tell — the best measure of success I could ask for. I recently completed a solo thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile journey that deepened my passion for exploration, storytelling, and connecting people to the natural world. I’m eager to bring that same energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to a tour-guiding role to help travelers connect deeply with the world and themselves. Let’s turn destinations into discoveries and moments into memories.

Tours Offered & Destination Knowledge

As I indicated above, I do not have experience as a tour guide. However, as a guest, I have enjoyed guided tours of Rome, Sydney, The Blue Mountains of Australia, an orangutan sanctuary in Borneo, a national park in Sri Lanka, a game preserve in Ranthambore, India, a private game preserve in South Africa, and a guided trip to the upland gorillas in Rwanda. I have knowledge from previous visits to the following national parks in the United States: Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Yosemite, Lassen, North Cascades, Sequioa and Kings Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Canyonlands, Arches, Capital Reef, Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain, Grand Canyon, White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Big Bend, Mammoth Cave, Smokey Mountains, Everglades, Hot Springs, Mount Rainier, Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt, Pictured Rocks, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. In addition, I have knowledge based on previous visits to Banff, Jasper, and Waterton Lakes parks in Canada, El Yunque National Forest on Puerto Rico, and Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica. I have (scuba) dived at Key Largo, Florida, Little Cayman Island, Jardines de la Reina (Gardens of the Queen) National Park off the southern coast of Cuba, and the Great Barrier Reef off Australia.

Fun Fact!
When I was 59 years old I learned to wake surf. That is, to surf in the wake of a boat without a rope, using only the hydrodynamics of the wave as propulsion.
Hobbies & Interests
I'm a lifelong learner and adventurer. While in retirement since fall 2020, I've traveled to more than a dozen countries, become a certified SCUBA diver, a wake surfer, and once again a motorcycle rider. Through the University of Florida and a local conservancy, I've obtained certification as a Master Naturalist regarding coastal systems. This past summer, I successfully completed the Pacific Crest Trail; this is a 2,650mile trail from Mexico to Canada. I had hoped to experience profound personal growth, though I didn't know how it would happen. Much to my delight, my personal growth exceeded my hopes and expectations.
