Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.

About

As a two-month-old, I took my first flight, and by six, I was a seasoned solo traveler. With a French mother and an English father, I spent summers in Paris with my grandparents and the rest of the year in England. I wasn’t content with simply hanging out with my grandparents; I would insist on exploring the city’s sights, from the Louvre to the Bateaux Mouches.

After college, I spent a couple of years as a Tour Director through Europe with American students, navigating a world without cellphones. I learned to tell stories to keep the students engaged. What was always the first question I was asked when I stopped? Where are the toilets? I am an expert at locating public bathrooms! I once even had to fend off overzealous Italian admirers hanging off our bus in Rome. I learned to be self reliant and how to think on my feet.

To escape the monotony of everyday life, I spent a few seasons working as a tour rep at a ski resort. I led weekly ski excursions, but my adventure came to an abrupt end when a fall in Verbier required an airlift to the nearest hospital.

Throughout my life, I’ve been captivated by different cultures. I’ve taken my children on European adventures and hosted international students in my home. As a tour director, I’ve found my true calling, sharing my passion for travel with others.

I’ve lived and worked in several countries, including the UK, USA, France, Switzerland, and Portugal. I’ve always been eager to learn about the places I’ve called home and the destinations I’ve explored. My thirst for knowledge and love of sharing it with others continue to drive my passion for travel.

Most of my career has been dedicated to customer service. I served as a Regional Manager for both EF Cultural Care (AuPairs) and Educatius. In this role, I worked with host families, students, and au pairs, and managed a team of Local Coordinators. A significant part of my job involved resolving complex issues.

Testimonials

Carolyn was knowledgeable, approachable, and reliable. She was a very important part of this successful trip.

Carolyn was very pleasant and friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed. Went out of her way to honor requests that were not on our itinerary. She made sure we stayed on schedule and didn’t go “too fast or too slow” as we went throughout the day. She was very professional and great to work with! Hope to see her on our future trips!

Carolyn was fantastic and very personable. She connected with all of our students and the adults. I really appreciated her sense of awareness and, tried to really connect with the kids.
