Hello! My name is Robin and I am a licensed New York City Guide. I am a proud member of, and Certified by the Guides Association of NYC. I am a member of the GANYC Certification Committee and helped to design and implement the course which seeks to improve the way guides develop and deliver successful tours. I hold myself to the highest standards in professional guiding and ethics.
I am passionate about New York City and delight in sharing its complex history and ecosystem with visitors. However, I did not begin life here and I did not start my career as a tour guide.
For 30 years I have lived in midtown Manhattan at the center of it all! But I first visited The Big Apple as a teenager to fulfill my dream of showing horses at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden. On my first morning in NYC as I stood on West 33rd Street near Eighth Avenue at the back entrance to the arena, holding the lead of a Thoroughbred show horse, I was enthralled! Regular NYkers rushed past me on their way to scoop up their breakfast bagel, taxis honked their horns, NYPD officers argued with Teamsters over parking, and I felt the unmistakable energy of The City for the first time. At that moment I told my father that I would live in New York City one day.
After earning a degree in Fine Arts and a Masters in Art History I began a career in the museum profession. I developed a love of researching and creating experiences for the public as a curator and educator in history, art and natural science museums. I have a wide range of interests and broad knowledge base as a result. I have always viewed NYC as a “giant museum” that I love to explore, research and share with the public. When I became a full-time professional guide, I chose the best job I’ve ever had.
Welcome to the greatest city in the world! I can’t wait to show you!
