About

I am a retired history teacher, US Army Vet and now a private tour guide based out of Las Vegas. I love to travel and see new things. More importantly, I love to learn the stories of the men and women behind the towns and parks that people love to experience. And I adore sharing those stories with others. My reviewers call me folksy, fun and a walking encyclopedia. Can’t argue with that.

My main activities are themed walking and city tours of Las Vegas as well as day tours to the Southwest National parks. Often I am called for Step on Service for both student and adult tours. I occasionally have subbed as a Tour Director for multi day tours and loved it. While I am not willing to give up my current work around Las Vegas, I would love to get involved in a limited number of multi day tours as a Tour Director for tours in the Western US and South America.

Testimonials

Tomas (Step On Service for Lithuanian Tour Group)

"Great tour with Richard; lots of stories, fun facts, very nice and entertaining personality. I can recommend him to anybody."

Geraldine (Private Day City Tour for a large multi-generational family)

Absolutely worth it! Richard is very knowledgeable, flexible and share his passion for LV with communicative enthusiasm and great humour. He catered for and tailored his tour around my family's interest (17, 14 and 10 years old). He was always checking how the kids were doing, and if they were still interested: you can tell he used to be a teacher. Although my husband had already been in Vegas he learnt lots of interesting facts and saw things he'd never seen before. Many thanks for this unique tour!

Agnes (Step On Service for a Student Photography Club Tour)

Richard is full of stories and fascinating details. A jokester! Everyone just loved him almost as much as they loved the Valley of Fire and the Bellagio Fountain. Thank you!

Aztuck (Step on Service to Indian Adult Tour Group, Grand Canyon)

Richard was a marvelous tour guide. Extremely patient and knowledgeable.
