About

Olá! My name is Marta and I’m a licensed tour guide in Portugal, since 2007. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Porto, hometown of the famous Port wine.

I am passionate about history, art, food and wine (aren’t we all?) and, of course, my city! I feel that I’m very fortunate to have a job that allows me to meet people from all over the world, while showing them my county’s best spots! I love to wander around the old neighborhoods of Porto, stop in small shops and beautiful viewpoints and maybe, finish the day sitting in a terrace and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

My guiding style is very easy going, I love to adapt the tours to the guests interests and tell them a little about the Portuguese lifestyle. Basically, my goal is to make sure they are having a great time!

I do personalized tours in the beautiful city of Porto and North of Portugal.

In the city I love walking tours, as I feel this is the best way to explore the ancient neighborhoods, monuments and hidden corners, stopping here and there, maybe for a drink, or maybe for a good photo opportunity.
I also love to drive to the countryside in the Douro Valley, for example, for a nice food and wine tour or maybe to the Minho Region, for an historical approach on the Portuguese foundation and medieval towns.

My tours can be adjusted to the client's interests and available time.

Fun Fact!
I am the typical Portuguese girl, short and brunette!
Hobbies & Interests
Being a tour guide, makes me a naturally curious person, so I end up having many interests! One of the things that I love the most is to travel a plan my future trips with my family. I love to read, mostly books related with my job (history, culture, architecture, etc.) but also historical novels, good thrillers and biographies. When I'm not reading, I love to try different cuisines, I love to cook and pair a nice meal with good portuguese wines. I'm always up for a hike and love to watch series and movies, at night.

Virtual Tour Experience

I think virtual tours are a great way to have a taste of the city, in order to start planning an actual trip in the future. I've done some virtual tours, specially for travel agencies that I usually work with and decided to offer this experience to their clients. I love to interact with virtual tourist by making to tour as interactive as possible.
