About

I live in Vallentuna just north of the  Swedish capital Stockholm (born and raised). I started my tourism career in 2014 by starting the company Sweden History Tours, specialising in Viking and other history tours in Stockholm. I operated the company until 2019, then handing it over to my co-founder to gain time and energy to finish my Teacher Certification. I decided in late 2022 to get into tourism again by restarting as a freelance history guide and tour operator consultant (helping operators with other aspects of their businesses). During 8 years I have amassed experience in the fields of pedagogy, marketing, business management, tourism and education. I hold a BA in history and have a few marketing diplomas. In my spare time I enjoy doing excursions in my home region around Stockholm, hiking, listening to history podcasts and following my local Stockholm soccer/football and ice hockey team Djurgarden. I work with businesses and organisations to develop and deliver engaging and educational history experiences. Feel free to contact me for a no strings attached conversation.

Testimonials

What a great tour we had! Runes, burial mounds, a long house and Viking village and a Viking parliament. There was just two of us in the group. Angus was very informative and I liked how he tailored information to his audience, me who knew very little and my daughter who knew a lot. We were enthralled for the entire tour. Angus has an engaging style and knows how to fire the imagination, not just with information, but also with stories, descriptions and modern day comparisons. He also ensures that people are comfortable and their needs taken care of. We had lunch at Granby farm which was an experience in itself (thank you Lise) and we were able to buy delicious local produce. As we were spending most of our time in Stockholm, this tour also provided a great opportunity to see the Swedish countryside. This tour adds a dimension to learning history that you just can't get in a museum. Thanks for a great day Angus and rock on AC/DC!
