About

As is likely common among Trip Schoolers, I love to travel! I’ve learned over the years that travel is best in the company of others–that’s why I’m here! All the better if I can help fellow travelers understand more about what they are seeing and experiencing. As the Trip School team says: It’s all about making memorable moments for those around you; I’m keen to enable travelers to have an experience of a lifetime *on every trip they take*.

I’m excited to get to know the Trip School/Campfire team and the broader travel community!

I am just about to complete year two as a tour guide; best career decision I've made! I guided student tours in the spring and adult tours through the summer and fall of 2024 and am on grateful replay for 2025! :)

Locations guided: Atlanta, D.C., Boston, New York, Philadelphia, the Deep South (over-the-road, Houston to Miami), and the Southwest National Parks. I'd like to broaden my tour map in 2026--especially internationally. I've traveled to over 50 countries, lived in Scotland, and have studied abroad twice (Japan and Hong Kong). I grew up in a military family which engendered a "bloom where you are planted" mentality--a mindset that comes in really handy when traveling. I have an elementary understanding of the Japanese language (and am currently taking coursework to become more proficient). I am a quick study and would relish the opportunity to direct a tour in any (relatively-safe) location.

Fun Fact!
Traveled to over 50 countries and spent my formative years in Scotland.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of travel, I love to hang with my husband, dog, and cat just outside of Nashville, TN. I've worked in both corporate, nonprofit, and educational settings--most recently serving as an entrepreneurship program director at the high school level.

Testimonials

"Please accept this email with appreciation for all that you and your company did for our successful trip. Please note that partnering with Hallie was absolutely incredible. Her patience, warmth, and flexibility was incredible. She is an unbelievable reflection of your organization. I have gone on school trips for over 25 years and she is at the top when it comes to partnering, coordinating, and listening. As we continue to work with your company we will always want to request to work with her again." --Head of School

"It was the best trip I have ever done! You and your team are incredibly gifted in making sure that every trip is suited to each group. I can’t say enough about Hallie!! She is amazing and so knowledgeable. She even reached out today about the two figure skaters that wanted a picture taken with our students. The kids fell in love with her and even had me record them to send her a video message." --Administrative Team/Trip Leader

"Dear Hallie, thank you so much for the part you've played in making our holiday to your part of the world so enjoyable. You are the consummate professional; you are so energetic, bloody hard working with an awesome, self-deprecating sense of humour, and an incredible memory. Most of all you are a beautiful human being with a real talent for your job which you clearly love, and we’ve been fortunate and blessed to have been on your tour. When we do our next trip, wherever, whenever that is, we’d love to have you join us as our tour guide! (We’ve got your phone number!) Thank you again, Len and Linda"

Additional Education

I have been trained as a guide through Trip School. Having been a teacher many times over the course of my career (from high school to graduate level), I am very comfortable teaching, directing, and when necessary, corralling groups! :) I am a certified "Toastmaster" through Toastmaster's International. But, mostly, I have a heart for people who want to know a little bit more about our world through the gift of travel.

General Availability
