I came to California from Michigan as part of the early high-tech migration in the early 1980’s. I was a systems analyst and engineer providing software support for customers who purchased software/hardware from the mini computer companies that employed me at that time. I met my husband in Oakland, CA and a few years later, we started our own consulting and graphic design company. My daughter is taking over the design company and in 2014 while doing succession planning, I decided that I would enjoy working in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. I did my research and decided to take an ITMI course to get a good foundation of knowledge on the travel industry. I enjoyed that class and the people I have worked for and with over the past few years. I believe that I offer my clients value as a professional who:
- is organized
- is comfortable with using technology if requested
- can be relied on to “do her homework” if there are special requests for the group
- knows the Bay Area and surrounding communities very well
- can think on my feet
- enjoys working with diverse clients from student tours to senior groups and personal VIP tour guests
- understands the importance of customer service and creating good will for future business
