About

Like so many fellow guides, I’m driven by a sense of curiosity, adventure and a desire to learn and share things about the world around me. I started my guiding journey working at the Museum of London where I developed my very first tours on my subject specialism: London & the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Eventually I became a qualified London Blue Badge Guide and have gone on to develop tours on a range of things from the London Docklands and the South London neighbourhood of Brixton to the ‘hidden’ bits of the City of London. One of my popular (virtual) tours is ‘The Black Presence in Georgian London’ which aims to tell a more complete version of London history than the ones you’ll read about in standard guides; revealing stories about the marginalised, overlooked and sometimes simply forgotten.

I’m friendly and enjoy showing the world of London to people from all over the world.

I enjoy guiding all the staples offered by a qualified London Blue Badge Guide including the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and the British Museum; as well as some 'out-of-town' locations, especially Oxford where I was a student at Brookes University.

Fun Fact!
I once worked as a Camp Counselor for The Fresh Air Fund based in Fishkill, NY.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy loooong walks in the city but also in the countryside - 49,000 steps is my daily record so far! I also like to jog, play tennis and practice a bit of Tai Chi. I love to read (mostly non-fiction) and watching superhero movies and Ru Paul's Drag Race. I also love baking.

Virtual Tour Experience

I've created two virtual tours: 'London & the Transatlantic Slave Trade' and 'The Black Georgians'.

Testimonials

"We are both still over the moon about our time with you. You played a huge part in making [our trip] so memorable." Malia, USA

"What a superb and informative [virtual] tour!  I wrote lots of notes down as  you were talking and want to find out more about some of the people mentioned as I had never heard of some of them." Anne, UK.

"Fantastic [virtual] presentation today...The content was very interesting and extremely important. You made it very 'alive' and relevant. We enjoyed also 'flying around' the City of London and the recorded walk to Jamaica Coffee house :). It made us feel less 'locked down'. Brilliant talk. Thank you! Off to contribute to Memorial 2007 :) Thank you for sharing it all with us. Congrats, good luck and maybe see you in person one day." E.P, UK

"Dominic is a guide who is a great credit to Blue Badge Guides. We went on two guided walks with him - one focused on the Tower of London and another on London's role in the Transatlantic Slave Trade - and they were certainly eye-opening. He has a wealth of his knowledge at his fingertips which he is able to share according to the level of detail that you desire. His intimate knowledge of London, its places and its history is always delivered in a warm and engaging manner. Dominic is someone who guides out of a love of sharing his interests with his clients - he was so engrossed during the walks that we didn't realise we had gone over our time. He certainly goes above and beyond to accommodate his clients. Definitely will recommend a guided walk led by the wonderful Dominic; you certainly will be amazed." Private client, Singapore
