Hi! I’m Clara, a local guide in Madrid and Toledo and a Tour Manager in Spain, a country rich of culture, history and gastronomy.
After completing my first degrees in History and Art History in Spain, and a Master’s in Art History at the Sorbonne University in Paris, I traveled the world working in important cultural institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. And then, when I had to decide which would be the best way to make a living I knew that I had to find something that would combine my five passions: teaching, culture, travel, people and food, I found that guiding was the best for me.
I’ve been working as a local guide since 2010, and I combine my work as a guide with the curation of collections at museums of the Ministry of Culture of Spain while also working on my PhD on the “Culture of Spain after the Francoism”. As an historian and art historian, I’m specialist in museums and places where you can best get to know the history of Spain, like Toledo.
I moved to Madrid in 1999, where I work and live. I love my city and I enjoy to show its wonders to visitors, to be a hostess and to bring everyone the magic of this great place!
My walks are great for those who want to see another side of Madrid. I love to do tours that are fun and informative, where in just one visit people can have different kinds of experiences: culture, food, shopping… and surprises with a good time for laugh!
I also have more than 20 years of experience as a tour manager, taking small groups around Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Andalusia and the Basque Country. I’m a native Spanish, expert on my country, with a lot of knowledge of my country and eager to show it to travellers from all over the world.
