A lifelong love of learning fueled my teaching career of over 30 years. Traveling for me is the ultimate way to experience and learn about new places and cultures. Even within the United States there are so many experiences that are unique to regions and the best way to learn about them is to be there. Since my retirement in June I have been to Washington DC, New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Albuquerque & Santa Fe, The Villages and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. I also completed a National Parks Training that went through Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon. Whether these trips were for training or for pleasure the common element(s) for me were experiencing the culture through food, nature, the arts and historic places.
I feel thoroughly blessed to have raised my family in a small Wisconsin community. I think Wisconsin and Upper Michigan have some of the best state parks that I have visited to date and I encourage everyone I meet to come and visit. Another perk of becoming a part of the travel community in the past few months has been meeting people from all over and it would be really exciting for me to play host to any of them.
