About

After years of adulting, trying to determine what I wanted to do and decades of various careers, I discovered my true calling is as a Tour Director/Manager.

I have owned two restaurants, retail business, and Real Estate agent.  But the most enjoyable time I have had in my working career has been touring.  Entertaining and touring started at the age of 19.  I became the youngest female US Coast Guard licensed Captain in the Virgin Islands.  I would take guests on a sailing vessel for a week at a time, sailing around the Islands while teaching them about the Islands and how to sail.

In 2019 I jumped into the Tour business and,  well, the rest is history.  In the first 6 months I was working for multiple companies and completed more than a dozen tours.  Not bad for just entering the industry.

I work with Adult and Student companies.  The majority of my tours are within the South and Southeast but my knowledge expands to the West.  I’m willing to learn and take guests to other destinations if a Tour Operator asks.  Guests never know when I lead a tour for the first time.  I fill myself with knowledge beforehand.

I have excellent evaluations which average 4.9 out of 5, many come back as straight down the line 5’s.  Just ask, I’ll send you the evals if you want proof!  The main comments: organized, efficient, sense of humor, able to handle problems calmly and fun.

I truly enjoy touring with both adults and students.  I love to socialize, have fun and laugh with my guests.  You need laughter on tour, you also need lasting memories.  I provide that and more.

I find I am creative, in my mind, but once on paper, the drawing I pictured in my head becomes more of a stick person.

My dog is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. But now, because I am hardly home, he sees me as nothing but a foster mom.  He lives with my Mom and I pay the bills.  She has a companion and I have vet bills.

When I am home, I have a house which needs renovating (and yes, a dog which needs attention) so I spend a lot of time working on my house. I’m always looking for volunteers to assist if you have spare time.  If not willing to volunteer maybe  you can help fill my calendar so I’m not home often.

Tours Offered & Destination Knowledge

Bus ToursCultural/Specialty ToursLarge Group ToursMulti-Day Tour Director/LeaderPerformance Group ToursStudent Tour Director

Nashville, Memphis, Civil Rights, Washington DC, Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, Smoky Mountains, Florida - Okefenokee Swamp, St Augustine, Amelia Island as well as Fernandina Beach, Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island, St Simons, and Sapelo.  I have also led tours to Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania.  So does that mean I should be limited to those, no.  I can work in other areas too, I'm not restricted to the destinations on my resume.

Destination knowledge can be acquired for any tour.  It's not difficult to learn about a destination therefore I don't think there should be destination limits. I believe every tour is different, because of the guests, not the destination.  I read the crowd, go with the flow, but most of all remember, they are paid guests who saved to go on the tour so let's make it MEMORABLE! I don't sweat the small stuff, problem solve without breaking a sweat and make sure that the guests never knew there was a hiccup, large or small. I don't talk soooo much that they doze off, no one, including myself, wants to hear someone nonstop chattering. I change it up, depending on the guests. I add humor and fun to the tour. I want them to look back in 5 or more years and remember how much fun they had on my tour.  warning:  Dancing is a possibility.

Fun Fact!
Fun fact? I used to be a USCG Captain of Sailing vessels. Hey, it was fun and it's a fact! I have been to all but 2 US States, guess which two (if you said Hawaii and Alaska you are wrong) I'll give you a hint, above South Dakota and the other is sandwiched between CA and Washington.
Hobbies & Interests
Outdoors, outdoors, outdoors! I love the outdoors, I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, snow skiing and of course leading tours. I'm not limited to those mentioned, as long as I am outside or on tour, I am happy.

This was our 11th group tour from six different companies.  Terrie brought energy and enthusiasm that was truly outstanding; she was the best of the tour directors that we have used.

Terrie was an excellent group leader and a lot of fun.   She was always available, enthusiastic, a good troubleshooter, and committed to us having a good experience.

Terrie was well organized with a great sense of humor nothing threw her off track.

Terrie was always prepared.  We always knew what was coming up next and how to prepare ourselves. I'd definitely take another one of her tours in the future. Any of our questions were answered in detail.

I'd take any trip Terrie was leading, she is perfect for the job!

I've been on five Road Scholar trips and Terrie was one of the best leaders I have had

She did a great job.  Repeated meeting times/places so clearly articulated. Set clear boundaries for those who might tend to run late

Terri did an excellent job of shepherding the group. She handled changes with aplomb.

Terrie surely sets a high bar when comparing other group leaders to her!!!  I told her she was a blessing to our lives.

Terrie was excellent at previewing each day's activities and telling everyone what to expect. And her summary was always spot-on.  This made everyone feel comfortable and helped keep expectations within reach. I would be very enthusiastic about attending another Road Scholar adventure with her as
the guide. She was a warm and friendly person with a great sense of humor.

I cannot say enough good things about Terrie Dal Pozzo. She was well organized, well informed, friendly, funny, and very approachable. She was
quite simply the best, and anyone else who takes this or another tour in the Southeastern U.S. and gets Terrie for a guide can be thankful.

Terrie was great.  She was able to get a very diverse group of people together and enjoy themselves. She also found some things for us to do that
we're not on the agenda but we're fun and interesting
