About

Hello! I’m Jonathan, a history buff who loves to travel and teach others about history on the go! I love to study and talk about historic sites such as Civil War battlefields or city architecture. I’m always trying to get out and see new places. I co-run a YouTube channel called “Warhawk” which creates animated “battle map documentaries” of battles from American and European history; I research and write the scripts and “direct” the pacing and storytelling of each video. History is my biggest passion, as anyone who knows me would tell you, and I yearn to share my knowledge and information with others, making history fun and interesting to learn.

Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy writing and researching history, especially when it comes to writing the scripts and directing the videos for my YouTube channel Warhawk. I also enjoy hiking and travelling. I am particularly interested in military history such as the American Civil War, World War II, or battles from the Early Modern Period of European history (c. 1453 - c. 1815). I also like to game and read books in my free time.

Virtual Tour Experience

I've led virtual battlefield tours via photographs I've taken to places such as Manassas National Battlefield and Antietam National Battlefield. I share the pictures and tell the history of the battle and explain what the photo is showing (such as a field or monument). I also believe my videos for Civil War battles on Warhawk can qualify as "virtual tours" since in the script I explain in-depth the entirety of a battle, showing it unfold in 2d map animations as the narrator talks about what is happening in the video.
