On November 4, 2021, the world’s leaders in tourism came together at a side-event of the COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, to reach an important milestone towards action on climate change in our industry: the Glasgow Declaration. It’s a voluntary program for companies in tourism to report their action plan and pledge to go Net Zero ASAP. Take a look at the ever-growing list of Launch Partners & Signatories.
We at Impact Travel Collective are in full support of this initiative and wrote the following commitment statement about our belief that real change lies in the power of the tour guide:
We stand in solidarity with fellow signatories of the Glasgow Declaration as Launch Partner and Supporting Organization because we believe the future of travel is based on sustainability, innovation and collective action. ITC is on a mission to accelerate sustainable development in tourism by creating online tools and resources for guides, operators and travelers to know their tours’ impact on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, because it is the actors on the ground- on the tour rather- who create the real change in hearts and minds.
